Ingredients:

1.5 C flour (1.75 for vanilla)

1 C white sugar

½ t salt

1 t baking soda

¼ C cocoa powder (none for vanilla)

â…“ C applesauce

1 t distilled white vinegar

1 t vanilla extract (2 t for vanilla)

1 C cold water

*Best with Pillsbury Creamy Supreme Frosting

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350F.

Grease an 8X8 inch pan with coconut oil or prepare 12 cupcake cups

Sift flour, sugar, salt, soda, and cocoa together in a bowl.

Create three wells in dry mixture. Pour oil into one well, vinegar into second, and vanilla into third. Pour cold water over all, and stir well with fork.

Pour into pan.

Bake at 350F for 26 minutes (non-stick pan) for cake or 22 minutes for cupcakes, or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Frost and serve.
